The The Vertical Project program combinesinstruction on proper landing mechanics, nutrition, stretch shortening cycle (he calls it “tension release”), plyometric training, aquatic training (great for resistance as well as less stress on the joints), and whole body movements.

The Serious Ups training program’s fundamental claim is that by using “negative gravity” your vertical leap will increase.  The system revolves around training your body by using negative gravity.

In the strength and conditioning field we call negative gravity “eccentric contraction.”  Research supports the claims made by the Serious Ups program in that eccentric contractions have been shown to be most effective for building strength in the muscles.  So, the program IS based on sound fundamental physiological principles and should work when done correctly.
